We had an action-packed weekend with our friends from Loreto Convent in Gibraltar.  Having arrived late on Friday night with time only for a quick hot chocolate before bed, the 27 boys and girls from Gibraltar woke on Saturday to bacon and eggs and a packed programme.

The visitors, together with the four members of staff who accompanied them on the trip, first enjoyed a tour of Stonyhurst College.  Typically, the rain fell hard all morning but the Loreto students showed their spirit in the afternoon.  The boys dived (in some cases, literally) straight into rugby training and were unrecognisable within a couple of hours.  They had trotted onto the arena in their pristine white kit and the state of them at the end of the day was testament to how thoroughly they had got involved in the experience.  The girls managed to avoid the worst of the weather in the gym, but the netball matches were highly competitive and played in a great spirit.

The evening saw Mr "MC" Smith, SMH housemaster, acting as DJ for the Loretto/SMH disco.  The students had decorated the hall with fantastic artwork earlier in the afternoon.  With all the staff in fancy dress and plenty of refreshments on hand, the Old Theatre rocked to the sounds of "Is this the Way to Amarillo" until it was time to head to the dorms for a well-earned rest.
