The Staff Pantomime is probably the worst-kept secret of all time and the façade of a "staff announcement" was not enough to divert the audience from real purpose of an afternoon assembly in the Centenaries Theatre.  This year, Hansel and Gretel got the Mrs Robinson treatment and a new hero was born ... Bonus the Pieman, the caped crusader from Wigan.

Preparations behind the scenes for the Ladies of Spain, France and Germany. There were Ladies of China and Lancashire, too.

Would you buy a pie from this man?

The stars of the show.

Sweets are banned in Crouchland by order of the King. Your scribe wrestles the goodies from the clutches of Hansel and Gretel and their sister.

The Queen arrives with her Ladies in Waiting.

The Queen is desperate for a pie, but the ban will not allow it. Enter Bonus the Pieman!

The illegal transaction takes place.

Mrs Lea comes to the rescue with sweets for the audience.

Enter the wolf ... into the wrong panto!

The Wicked Witch strikes terror into the hearts of the audience!

Security is tight in Crouchland. They are on the trail of Bonus.

Bonus the Pieman is apprehended ...

... and then released after the ban was lifted! And they all lived ...

G'day, Cobbers! We even had a kangaroo in our panto. Beat that!

And finally, the announcement.
