Miss Allen, Head of Music writes,

"SMH Choir travelled to Sheffield Arena to take part in ‘Young Voices 2009’

Singing at the top of our voices, shouting for our school, huge Mexican waves, joining in a massed choir of over 5000, torches and glow sticks lighting up the packed arena, live band and wonderful music. Here are some of the many comments made by SMH choristers.

‘Wow!’  (Beatty S.)

‘Young Voices was amazing! I had so much fun, standing up with so many people all singing together. I remember being really excited for the concert to start. I loved the soloists like VV Brown and All Angels, and the boy who sang ‘In the Bleak Midwinter’ was really good. My favourite song of the night was ‘Ain’t No Mountain High Enough’ in the Finale.  (Molly M.)

‘A fantastic atmosphere, bright lights, excited cheers, stunning banners and so many people all singing out together!’ (Edward Johnson)

‘I really enjoyed learning to sign ‘Can You Hear Me’...the whole thing was great!’ (Isabella E)

‘I had no idea it was going to be so much fun!’ (Somkene M)

‘When the lights went down before the concert, everyone’s luminous sticks glowed like beautiful stars. Everyone was excited and screaming as loud as they could! During the concert the lights were amazing! They were flying across the stadium!’ (Genevieve T)

‘There wasn’t one second that I didn’t enjoy!’ (Ciara D)"
