The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe

Mrs Catherine Robinson, Head of English,  writes

"On Thursday January 10th forty nine Rudiments and Upper Figures pupils travelled to Leeds to see an adaptation of C. S. Lewis's 'The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe' at the West Yorkshire Playhouse. It was a lavish production, with a revolving stage, impressive pyrotechnics, and computer generated backdrops. The death of Aslan was poignant and moving and his resurrection drew a gasp and a cheer from the SMH pupils. They were rapt throughout the performance and despite the late hour the coach buzzed with animated discussion all the way home - and yes, Upper Figures, Aslan is meant to represent Jesus."
