SMH celebrates the European Day of Languages.

SMH embraced the European Day of Languages and celebrated in style.  Mrs Ruth Everitt had ensured that, throughout the school, there were notices attached to doors bearing many translations and we all tried our best to learn how to say "Hello, my name is ... " in as many different languages as possible.  Bravo! (Which language is that , then?) 

Lunchtime was a treat as you can see from the photographs.  And the answer to the question?  See below.

Our Catering staff entered the spirit of the day with various European hats and a wonderfully cosmopolitan menu.

The Refectory was decorated with more flags than the EC headquarters in Brussels.

To add to the celebrations, it was Hannah's birthday, too.

At SMH, we speak ten European languages.  If we include all the languages from around the world, we can speak twenty-five.  How wonderful is that?
