Lower Elements' timetable has gone from really busy to exceptionally busy lately and it has been very interesting for your scribe to bump into them occasionally as they go about their day-to-day lives here at SMH.  Just have a look at the photographs to see what I mean.

All dressed up, but where are we going in our 1940's clobber?

To the Stockport Air Raid Shelter, of course! Apparently, the tunnels stretch out for miles underneath the streets of the town. When the town was being bombed during the War, everyone came down here so that they could be safe.

They slept down here, too.

If you were ill, there was even a small hospital. We found out that babies were born here, too.

Nothing like a cuppa to keep up the Dunkirk spirit.

Not much room in this Anderson Shelter.

Here we are bread-making in the SMH Refectory.

Smashing! You won't find bread as good as this in the local supermarket!
