The Line Competition for Rudiments and Figures gets a boost.

The Line Competition has been a feature of Stonyhurst for decades.  In February 1938, a nine-year old Hodderician at Hodder Place wrote, "This term, we began to have Lines.  They are the same as at the College, only the College has had them for quite a number of years.  I believe these Lines are a success, although it is hard to feel so at the moment, because the winning Line is having high tea and a cinema, while we are in the schoolroom writing these Hodder Notes."

High tea and a cinema may not be the reward for the winning Line.  However,  Ruds will have dinner in a local restaurant and Figures will have a special Line Supper in Figures Playroom.

A new Line card for Rudiments and Figures will accompany the changes and this has been designed to show important aspects of Stonyhurst history by showing the places where the school has been during its four centuries: St Omer (1593), Bruges (1762), Liège (1773) and Stonyhurst (1794).

Everything is ready to go for the next Line Period and we confidently expect that everyone will be trying their best to win!
