General News
Brian Ashton spends the day at SMH.

We were delighted when Brian Ashton came to spend the day at SMH.  During the morning, Brian gave a talk in the Centenaries Theatre about his career, telling us about his role with Sir Clive Woodward during the 2003 Rugby World Cup and his time as England Head Coach for the World Cup in 2007. There were lots of questions asked, especially about the old-Stonyhurst players, such as Iain Balshaw, Will Greenwood and Kieran Bracken, whom Brian had coached.  Afterwards, Brian met all the Games staff and gave them a fascinating talk about his coaching methods and his approach to sports coaching in general.  Then, during their afternoon Games session, Brian coached the 1st and 2nd XV’s.  Everyone really enjoyed the day and we thank Brian once more for coming along to join us.
